Coral Beach Resort – Sharjah has recently introduced karate and self-defence classes. “Karate is a martial art that harmonizes mind and body for balance, strength, perseverance and patience, in other words total self mastery,” says Jean Pierre Simon, Regional General Manager for the Northern Emirates, Coral Hotels & Resorts.
The karate classes will be conducted on Wednesdays and Sundays by a professional Sensei trained by Japanese Masters while the self defence sessions will be on Fridays, with each 90-minute session costing AED100.
“The mind-bodybalance is something we consider to be important for staying fit and enjoying a healthy lifestyle, but achieving such self perfection requires self discipline and hard training,” Jean Pierre points out.
The Coral Beach Resort Sharjah boasts a wide range of leisure and fitness activities for guests of all ages, which include a newfitnesscentre ‘Attitude’ that features state-of-the-art exercise equipment from Life Fitness and is a fabulous addition to the existing Rimal Club. Other attractions include spectacular outdoor swimming pools, tennis, badminton and volleyball courts as well as children’s pool, indoor playroom and Kids Club.
“We have consciously created an environment that fosters health, wellness and sport for families and children and have been consistently using our facilities for the purpose. To take just one example, we conduct every year a hugely popular junior tennis tournament that draws participants aged from under 10 to 18 years from across the UAE,” Jean Pierreelaborates.
“Or take another one of our recent initiatives. We have segregated smoking and non-smoking areas on our beachfront to protect our young and old guests from the dangers of passive smoking. Such initiatives are part of our endeavour to promote a healthy lifestyle,” he adds.
